At Overdale Junior School, we recognise the importance of helping children stay safe online. As technology becomes a growing part of children’s lives, it’s vital that pupils—and their families—understand how to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2025 and UKCIS Online Safety Guidance, we teach pupils how to recognise risks, protect their personal information, and engage respectfully online. We encourage parents and carers to stay involved, talk regularly with their children about their online activity, and use parental controls where appropriate. Working together, we can help ensure that every child is safe, both in school and in the digital world.

Online safety is serious
Parental engagement with online safety is hugely important. After all, children are more likely to use devices, apps and websites outside of school and at home. It’s best to know as much as possible and understand the modern online risks which your child may face. There are a lot of useful resources available to help keep your children safe whilst online.
